ICT

The IT section provides development and support for the communication and computer systems throughout the Group as a whole. It comprises six members of staff whose skills include; Visual Basic, Systems Development, SQL, GIS Integration and web development, M:soft/NT administration.

Communications

All communication equipment and maintenance is managed by the IT Section. This includes PC and telephone systems for 150 users, voice and data links for twenty sites and a dedicated internet connection.

Computer Systems

The Group operates several computer systems, all of which require development and maintenance.

Housing and Finance Systems

These control all property and tenant information including; repairs, rent and ground maintenance. Currently this system is provided by MIS and runs on an NT/2000 platform.

Desktop Systems

We currently have over 150 desktop PCs running on various operating systems. These are connected to a communications suite comprising over 20 servers. In addition we utilise a number of handheld and laptop computers for our field operatives. All of our systems are subject to a policy of continual upgrade.

Internet System

As part of our programme to embrace the latest developments in communications we now host and develop our web site in-house.

Network

The Group runs both wide and local area networks. As part of the organisation's commitment to staff development, our network staff receive continuous training in the deployment and maintenance of core products.
