Human Resources

Within the Corporate Services division, the team provides comprehensive human resources and training and to all other teams within the Group.

Human Resources

The team of seven staff develops and implements all employment policies and procedures for the Group.

The Human Resources Officers provide the day to day human resources function, advising on the recruitment and selection process, terms and conditions, employee relations, etc. Three Human Resources Assistants (full and part-time), deal with the administration of these functions, monitoring records and procedures and providing statistical information to the Corporate Management Team and regulatory bodies.

Training

South Staffordshire Housing Association achieved Investor in People status within its first 12 months. Through the Human Resources Officer (Training and Development) a corporate training programme is directed at all employees to assist and improve the service, such as Induction, equal opportunities and diversity awareness, customer care and the Annual Staff Conference. Individuals' needs are met by a variety of internal and external courses and seminars and a Post Entry Training facility is available.

As an accredited NVQ assessment centre, the Human Resources team provide the essential assessing and verifying network to candidates for a programme of NVQs including Administration, Customer Service, Management and Health and Safety Competence Awards.

Work experience placements are welcomed within all Group services from a variety of education establishments, and we have developed links with technical colleges and schools (mainstream and special needs).
